A Look Ahead At The New Year And 'Limited Time Magic'

It was announced a while ago that an exciting new campaign would be coming to the Disney Parks in 2013. Called 'Limited Time Magic', the campaign, which will last the whole year, and sounds amazing. The whole idea of Limited Time Magic is to introduce surprise mini events at random times which will only feature in The Parks for a limited time. For example; from December 30th to January 5th, the Magic Kingdom will be home to Tomorrowland's 'Bling in the New Year' Party, making its debut. The Party, which I understand from the Disney Parks Blog will be included in regular admission, will feature live entertainment alongside appearances from Characters, who will help Guests welcome in the New Year!

Disney have also recently announced the 'Year of the Ear', a celebration which will see brand new and exclusive Ear Hats released on a monthly basis next year. The Hats, which will be limited edition, will also hopefully be available in many Walt Disney World stores.

We also know that a special announcement, similar to last year's concerning 'One More Disney Day', will be made on 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest'. The announcement, which was, well, announced, during the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade on Tuesday, is thought to concern another campaign named 'Disney Time', which will supposedly involve some kind of sweepstakes. Nothing is certain, and most of the facts about the announcement may be mere speculation, but some Disney Fansites have reported that Disney are already preparing websites for 'Disney Time'.

I believe that there will also be another announcement on New Year's Eve, this one currently remaining completely under wraps. My only guess is that it may concern the addition of Cars Land to Disney's Hollywood Studios, which I recently reported on.

I hope that you and your loved ones had a truly magical Christmas, and I wish you a prosperous, Disney-filled New Year! Thanks for reading!

Merry Christmas!

I would just like to wholeheartedly wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas! I hope that you enjoy Christmas wherever you are in the world, and if you are in Walt Disney World, you have a magical day exploring all the wonderful festivities which The Resort offers!
I certainly won't be missing the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, filmed earlier this month, which will broadcast on ABC tomorrow. Disney have produced an exciting preview to this magical annual event, which contains links to all the information you need to be able to view it. For viewers outside of the United States, I understand that the parade will be available to view online afterwards, but am not completely sure. I will try to find out and Tweet details later.
And for those of you who don't know, the annual parade broadcast features parades from both WDW's Magic Kingdom and California's Disneyland Park, hosted by big celebrity names and featuring performances from stars in the world of music! It's gonna be amazing for sure!

Thanks for reading, and have a magical Christmas!

Happy 60th Birthday; Walt Disney Imagineering!

This week marked a historic milestone in the story of the Walt Disney Company, with Walt Disney Imagineering, the creative force behind all the magical Disney Destinations Worldwide, turning 60. Disney celebrated the event with a beautifully made video celebrating everything which the wonderful Imagineers have achieved since they began their work 60 years ago. As with everything produced by Disney, the video is pure magic, and really tugs at your heartstrings. It certainly brought a tear of happiness to my eye. The video is accompanied by an amazing post on the Disney Parks Blog, written by Tom Staggs, which is a lovely tribute to the Imagineers, and the magic they create.
Of course, if it wasn't for the talented Imagineers, we wouldn't be blessed with the wonder and magic of Walt Disney World. All of the little details and references we see around WDW were painstakingly perfected by an Imagineer, and I can't put into words how much I appreciate the magic they bring into the lives of so many of us. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them from the bottom of my heart, especially Walt Disney himself, the original Imagineer, whose spectacular vision gave birth to the stunningly beautiful Parks we know and love today.
It has always been a personal dream of mine to become an Imagineer, to follow in the footsteps of some of the Imagineering greats and to repay them for making my life magical by making the lives of others magical. The video Disney have released has really inspired me to really pursue my dream, and to try and make it come true. After all, that's what Walt Disney World is all about; dreams coming true!

Tips For Last Minute Christmas Shopping- Disney Style!

Apologies for the cliche introduction, but it's that time of year again! Christmas Eve is only a week away, and trade is booming at shops around the globe as everyone tries to find that special magical gift for their loved one. As a Disney Fan, I have, as always, been checking out all the great Christmas Merchandise and gifts offered by Disney, and the pickings are plentiful.
If you are stuck for last minute gifts, or are simply interested in the unique merchandise offerings provided this year, I would encourage you to check out this cool post on the Disney Parks Blog, detailing all the magical merchandise available in the parks, as well as some special offers on awesome products. All four Walt Disney World Theme Parks offer outstanding Christmas apparel, collectibles and memorabilia, as well as equally outstanding gifts.
On my recent trip to WDW, I was lucky enough to be able to see some of the Christmas merchandise which was already available to guests, and I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised by the range of offerings, quality of items, and the reasonable prices. Not to say that I wasn't expecting big things (I was), but I thought that the merchandise available was amazing, even by Disney's incredibly high standards. I especially liked the Mickey Santa Hat and the Character Stockings. The Merchandise Team really excelled this year!
If you're pushed for time in the Parks, and want the best range on Christmas merchandise, I would recommend visiting either The Emporium in The Magic Kingdom, MouseGear in Epcot, or World of Disney in Downtown Disney, as I found them to have the best range of Christmas Merchandise. However, if, like me, you don't have the luxury of shopping in Walt Disney World, it's still possible to get your hands on the awesome Disney Merchandise I have described. You could visit your local Disney Store, or for a better selection, check out Disney Store Online, but hurry, as they may not be able to deliver before the 25th if you leave your order too late!

Thank you for reading, and have a magical day!!!

Attractions+

In the last few weeks, Disney have introduced the 'Attractions+' package at Walt Disney World. Details are still a little foggy, due to the absence of any real press release, but we do know that guests who purchase an Attractions+, which I understand will be available via Disney's PhotoPass as well as in the parks, will be entitled to up to 14 days of unlimited ride photos from the WDW attractions which offer the ride photo service.

It will cost guests $44.95, and officially is '14 days of unlimited digital downloads', prompting questions as to whether guests will have the ability to use their Attractions+ to get actual prints at the attractions, which cost around $15 individually. The attractions which currently offer ride photos are as follows:
  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
  • Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
  • Expedition Everest
  • Dinosaur
  • Test Track
More on this exciting new offering as details emerge, and thank you for reading! Have a magical day!

The Dragon Finally Returns to New Fantasyland on the Eve of its Opening

Last night, the wait was finally over! All the reported sightings of a Dragon flying over WDW this week were finally brought into the light- as the first 'official' sighting was made last night in the skies over the Magic Kingdom, leading to a flurry of activity on the Disney Dragons Tumblr Blog, and the Disney Parks Blog itself. The Dragon, on his most lengthy outing so far, was said to have been 'drawn to the New Fantasyland Grand Opening Celebration', which took place this morning. The Tumblr Blog, written by Disney's Social Media Managing Editor, Gary Buchanan, is really worth checking out, as it tells a great Disney story, and is THE place for all the best information and videos about New Fantasyland's 'hottest' new resident!

The Dragon's home, New Fantasyland, was officially opened this morning at the Magic Kingdom, with a spectacular celebration featuring fireworks, characters, and celebrities, which was lead by Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The celebration ended with a banner reading 'Welcome to New Fantasyland' being unfurled on the front of the castle. This ceremony marks the official opening of the second phase of what is the biggest expansion in the Magic Kingdom's history, and means that Under the Sea~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, Enchanted Tales With Belle, Gaston's Tavern and the Be Our Guest Restaurant are now in full operation. The first phase (Storybook Circus) opened in March, and the 3rd and 4th phases (Princess Fairytale Hall and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train), will open in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Now it's your turn! If you have any views or stories to share about today's topic, please feel free to leave a comment, or a message on our Facebook page!

Cars Land RUMOURED to be built at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

Rumours have emerged in the past few hours that Disney will make an official announcement very soon about plans to build a version of Disney's California Adventure's hugely successful Cars Land in Disney's Hollywood Studios. There has been another rumour surrounding this possibility for months, almost ever since the original Cars Land opened in California earlier this year, and, whilst it still remains a rumour, several reliable sources have confirmed that the announcement is due to happen sometime soon.
I understand that Cars Land will be situated on the land currently occupied by the Backlot Tour and the Lights, Motors, Action Show, which would both close to make way for the new area. Although we know that the land itself is rumoured to be built, we still have little idea of which attractions will feature. The immensely popular Radiator Springs Racers is a strong candidate, but may not make it to WDW, as it draws too many similarities with Epcot's Test Track, which re-opens tomorrow after being refurbished and updated since April. I'm sure that Disney won't want to create an exact replica of the land already in California, and will avoid having the exact same thing on both coasts.
For this reason, we will hopefully see some original attractions being developed for the Florida version by the Imagineers, and maybe even new locations from the film for the land, instead of Radiator Springs Town, like the original Cars Land already has. It would be great to see maybe a small drive 'em yourself attraction, similar to the Tomorrowland Speedway (which could lead to the closure of the Speedway, opening up some prime real estate for a new attraction in the Magic Kingdom), alongside an interactive playground for kids, and maybe a simulator based on the movie, or an attraction focusing on the World Grand Prix from Cars 2 for teens and adults. I'm also assuming that the Cars Meet and Greet, WDW's sole Cars attraction, would be moved into the new land as well. There are so many things the Imagineers could do with the Cars movies, and I can't wait to see what they come up with!
Believe it or not, there are also rumours circulating that Cars may only be a part of a larger Pixar Land, which would be an expansion of the existing Pixar Place area. This has in turn led to the inevitable resurfacing of the ubiquitous 'Monsters Inc Doors' Hanging Rollercoaster rumour, which has overshadowed Hollywood Studios for years, and could finally become a reality. I would love to see this come to fruition, but I really don't see how this could all fit in to the park. It's looking more likely that that Cars Land will just adjoin the existing Pixar Place.
More on this as it happens, but for now I'd love to hear your views on this exciting news! Please feel free to leave a comment, or leave a message on our Facebook page or my Twitter account.

As The Official Opening Of New Fantasyland Approaches, Sightings Of A Dragon Are Reported In WDW...

Thursday December 6th is going to be a big day for Walt Disney World. On a day which has certainly already cemented itself in WDW history, the resort will see not one, not two, but three major new Official Openings; with the Animal Kingdom the only theme park not to have an attraction making its debut. All three have been going through soft openings, or 'Dress Rehearsals', but are being officially opened on Thursday.

Firstly; The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow will be opening in Hollywood Studios' Soundstage 4 (where the Journey Into Narnia walkthrough attraction was housed). As with Narnia, the Captain Jack attraction will be a walkthrough, and Disney have promised that it will include content from every Pirates of the Caribbean movie. They are also claiming it to be 'a first of its kind sensory experience', and that, if you haven't experienced this attraction; 'you don't know Jack... Yet'. As always, the detail which has gone into both the concept art and the attraction itself are stunning, in a way that only Disney can pull off. If you want to see for yourself, WDW Magic have a great selection of photos.

Next, we head over to Epcot, where the long awaited and eagerly anticipated Test Track 2.0 will be starting its engine! Closed for refurbishment since spring this year, the re-imagined Test Track, now presented by Chevrolet is the second attraction to be premiering on Thursday. The old, moderately popular queue has been replaced with a futuristic queue, where you get the opportunity to design your own car, before boarding an equally futuristic 'SimCar', which will take you on a thrilling adventure around Test Track's amazing circuit. Upon exiting the ride, guests will have the opportunity to make a commercial for their car design, have their picture taken with it, and race it around a virtual track. It sounds like another awesome Disney attraction!

Last, but certainly not least, there is 'the big one'. The second, biggest phase of the Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland will be opening, comprising of the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast areas. The Storybook Circus area (first phase) opened last March, and the second phase has been doing Soft Openings, meaning that I was fortunate enough to get to experience both on my recent trip in October. Having actually been there, I can tell you that the New Fantasyland area is absolutely stunning- another spectacular feat of Disney Imagineering. The theming is superb, the attractions equally so, and from what I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised if Fantasyland knocks Frontierland off its perch as the Magic Kingdom's most popular land, especially after the third phase (Snow White) opens in 2014.
Thursday will see several additions to Fantasyland, the most notable of which being Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, and the Be Our Guest Restaurant. Gaston's Tavern, a counter service restaurant, will also be opening, alongside Enchanted Tales With Belle; an interactive storytelling experience, and several gift shops and snack carts.

Although all of these things are exciting additions to the Magic Kingdom, they have been overshadowed in recent weeks by rumours of a Dragon heading 'back home' to New Fantasyland. The Dragon rumours first surfaced back in June, when Imagineers were spotted testing an actual flying Dragon (which I believe they now have a patent for) at an airfield in California. At the time, it was speculated that the Dragon was for the upcoming Avatar Land at the Animal Kingdom, but ever since Disney have begun dropping hints through a blog post and a Tumblr Blog, people are certain the Dragon is headed to New Fantasyland. Lots of ideas are being bounced around- including the possibility of Epcot's Figment being somehow involved! Disney have, in their usual style, been feeding us little tidbits of info about this- and the links above are really worth a look, the story they've created for this is incredible, especially the interview with an 'anonyMOUSE' source. Sightings of the mysterious beast have begun appearing all over the place now- and I for one cannot wait for the reveal!

I'd love to hear your views on this! If you want to share your views, please feel free to leave a comment below! Thanks for reading, and have a magical day!
